What is Self-Care?
In today's society, the term 'self-care' is thrown around a lot. There are tons of chat about what it is and what it isn't, but the truth is...self-care is whatever you want it to be. Hence the word 'self'.
Self-care is taking the time to get to know yourself better, and catering to the needs that you discover. This is often ignored, but it is so important. Self-care also helps us sharpen our mental and physical health through better self-esteem, stress management, and overall well-being. Self-care forms an essential part of a lifestyle that keeps us healthy, happy, and more in tune with our minds and bodies.
According to Maslow's Hierarchy of Human Needs, we all need is the following:
- food, water, rest
- security, and safety
- belongingness, and intimacy
- prestige, and a feeling of accomplishment
- self- fulfillment, and a form of creativity
Honestly, the entire list is self-care, if you do not take care of yourself you will feel in lack and constantly in need of something else. Love on yourself! Spoil yourself! The way you treat yourself is the basis for how everyone else in the world will treat you.
Since self-care is about you, and your relationship with yourself. The quality of the relationship you have with yourself, can only be determined by you! We have established that self-care is essential to living a fulfilled and meaningful life...but how do you achieve it?
Here is a list of 12 Self-Care ideas!

Warm water oxygenates the blood and makes it flow easier. Warm water also makes your heart beat faster, giving it a healthy workout. Submerging in water can also reduce pain and inflammation and calm the nervous system. I personally love adding bath salts, and oils to add aromatherapy. Clear skin is always in. Facials can be expensive, so why not treat yourself! We sell vegan facial masks to give your face all time clear glow. Facials improve circulation and cleanse the skin, leaving you feeling rejuvenated.
